ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN
'Handy' Thanksgiving Wreath
What You Need:
- Construction paper in strong fall colors
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Permanent marker
What You Do:
- Help your kid lay her hand down, fingers apart, and trace around it on several different colors. Then have her cut out a set of twelve hands (one for each month of the year).
- Tilt each paper hand slightly and arrange the group to form a wreath shape—but don’t glue yet! Have your child practice her handwriting by writing one of the months of the year on each hand, starting with January at the bottom and ending, clockwise, with December.
- Below each month name, have your child write one thing she feels thankful for in that month of the year. Maybe it’s snow; maybe it’s a birthday; maybe it’s a special place the family visits. Whatever it is, give your kid props once she'd written out her reason to be thankful.
Fingerprint Fall Trees
What You Need:
- Tempera paint
- Paper
What You Do:
- Begin with color mixing. Give your child the primary colors (red, yellow, and blue) as well as white paint. Encourage her to explore with mixing and creating her own unique colors. Remind her of specific fall colors such as oranges and browns (brown can be a tricky color for very young children to mix, therefore it may be wise to have some ready made brown paint on hand). Paint mixing can be done with a small paint brush, or with the child’s hands. Take this opportunity to talk to your child about how different colors mix together to make new colors. For example, blue and yellow make green and colors opposite each other on the color wheel (such as green and orange) make brown.
- Ask you child to dip a finger it to the brown paint. Have her press her finger repeatedly onto the paper, making a tree trunk line. She can make the trunk as thick or as thin as she likes.
- Repeat step two for the branches, making thinner lines coming out of the trunk.
- Add leaves by asking your child to choose fall inspired leaf colors. Have her dip a finger into the colors one at a time, and then press the finger onto the paper (on the branches). Try creating patterns with the colors on the branches. Make sure she washes the finger she used for the trunk, or starts with a new finger, so that she doesn't contaminate the colors of her leaves.
- Repeat these steps multiple times to create a forest of fall trees.
- Optional: Add extra fall color finger prints on the ground to make piles of fallen leaves.

Egg Maracas
Materials that you need:
-Plastic eggs
-Rice
-Plastic spoons
-Colored tape
How we did it:
First the kids open the eggs of plastic to insert a handful of grains of rice and to close them again. It takes 2 teaspoons to place them to the sides of the egg of plastic.
Next, they placed the egg between two plastic spoons. Then they taped around the spoons to secure the egg.
It continues lining the piece with adhesive tape and it joins the handles of the spoons for major comfort.
It decorates to your taste with colored tape.
And and starts enjoying his sounds!!!!
Colored Pasta Jewellery
Material that you need:
- Uncooked hollow pasta (eg. macaroni)
-Ziplock bags
-Food colouring
-Hand sanitiser
-Paper towe
How we did it:
The first place your uncooked pasta into a ziploc bag. Put a few squirts of hand sanitiser into the bag.
Re-open the bag and pour a few drops of food colouring into the ziploc bag.
Zip up the bag and shake until the food colouring has mixed evenly through the pasta. The pasta is extracted and places in towels in order that it dries off. The following step is to be putting the pasta in the thread and when it has been ended to close the necklace with zeal. Finally you have a wonderful necklace of macaroni.

Jellyfish
Materials:
A plastic plate , ribbons of different colors and shapes, glue and cardboard.
Description:
With ribbons of different colors and various types the kids can create the tentacles of jellyfish.
Children below should stick labels onto plastic plate .
Finally, can make the eyes of jellyfish with cardboard.
Birds
Materials:
Acrylic paint, brush, white cardboard, moving eyes , orange marker and glue.
Description:
The children will paint his hand with acrylic paint of the color of their choice. Then, they will shall lay hands on the white cardboard to make their mark.
When the paint has dried, they can draw with marker orange the legs and beak of the bird.
Finally, they should glue the moving eyes.
3. Miriam
Autumn has arrived
Materials:
Papel, markers, crayons, colored pencis, scissors and glue stick
Description:
Give to the children a paper with a draw of a leaf for them to decorate after a mural for Autumn. Another way is that they draw the leaf and also they color it.
Other possibility is to make this mural with flowers when spring arrives, with snowmen when winter comes…
4. MarÃa
Materials:
Tempera paint and paper
Description:
kids paints with their fingers and mix colors like this, They can learn about the enviroment and the mixture of colors with this simple and interesting activity.
Other posibilities:
with other seasons, the sea, animals...
5. Egg Carton Goggles (Lydia)
Materials:
Cardboard egg carton
Crayons, markers, paint, stickers...
Pen
Scissors
Ribbon or string
Description:
Cut two wells from the end of the cardboard egg carton.
Trim any excess cardboard from the sides.
Make a little hole on the sides with the pen for the ribbon.
Cut using the scissors two circles to do the holes for the eyes.
Ask the child to decorate his mask or goggles using crayons, markers, paint, stickers...
6. Ocean in a Bottle (Cristina)
What You Do:
1. Pour sand in the bottle. After more or less fill halfway with water ..
2 Pour a drop of the color you choose.
3.Enter shells, stones and other marine objects.
4.Enter silicone bottle cap to latch it closed.
5. enjoy your favorite seabed. It's very relaxing.
What You Need:
-Glass bottle
-Hot glue gun
-Water
-Oil
-Blue food coloring
-Sand
-Seashells
7. Make a Straw Skeleton (Noelia)
What You Need:
-White chalk
-Glue
-Scissors
-Straws plastic
-Cardboar poster black
What You Do:
Cut the straws into several pieces to make the bones of the skeleton.
After creating the skeleton, gluing each straw in the same way that your, wiht glue , always with help from you.
Then draw the skeleton heas whit white chalk.
8. Popcorn Picture (Michelle)
Materials:
Popped popcorn
Glue stick or white glue
Construction paper
Brown paper bag (optional)
Tempera paint powder (optional)
Description:
Rub the glue stick on a piece of construction paper or spread white glue with a brush.
Stick popped popcorn onto the construction paper to make a collage.
For a winter scene, use plain white popcorn.
For spring blossoms, shake the popcorn in a brown paper
bag with powdered tempera paint, then glue the popcorn onto a flower
shape cut from construction paper.
For variety, try using Cheerios or puffed rice cereal instead.
9. The animals (Paula)
Materials:
CD player.
CDs with noises animals.
Worksheets of animals.
Wax crayons.
Descrptions:
The teacher will put the worksheets of animals on
blackboard with cellar tape. The child heard the noise of a animal in
the CD player and he take the animal`s worksheet that has made this
noise. Afterwards with wax crayons the child will paint the animal.
10. Recycling activity: caterpillar roll toilet paper (Alicia G.)
Materials:
Toilet paper tube, hand paint, eyes stickers and cardboards of colours.
Description:
If you want to do something with the kids about animals colours and nature you can use this idea. You can also work on recycling, because you use toilet paper tube, which are made of cardboard. It's a funny way to recycle and learn. First you ask your kids that bring to class some toilet paper tube, them they decorate however they want with diferent colours of hand paint and put the eyes stickers on the first tube or where they want. Finally they will paste the tubes on cardboard with leaf form. AND YOU GET A BEAUTIFUL CATERPILLAR!

Baa Baa Black Sheep
Material: voice
Description: each your kids the lyrics to your favourite nursery rhymes and they'll remember them forever.

Make a fancy fan
Materials: sheet of 11-inch by 14-inch construction paper or cardstock, ribbon or lace, glue, safety scissors, non-toxic markers, crayons or colored pencils, glitter, sequins and tape.
>Description: With a blank sheet of paper, have your child glue ribbon or lace along the top of one side.
Allow your child the freedom to decorate the paper as they see fit.
They can utilise the glitter and the coloured markers to decorate.
When the decorations are complete and dry, fold the paper into creases accordion style.
Tape the bottom end of the fan closed and open up the top.

PRESENTATION: GETTING TO KNOW EACH OTHER
My name is Adrian and I am ambitious, because when I want some, I will fight for that, its prize isn't important. I live in Madrid and I am 22 years old.
This is "Dexter", this is my favourite American television crime drama mystery series. Dexter leads a double life, in the morning he is a policeman and by nights he turns murderer. He had a hard childhood, he saw the death of his mother and a policeman adopted him. The policeman taught him killing, but only if the person is guilty.
One idea is travelling around the world and I would help everybody in need or I would continue my studies in spain.
